I have a set of Apache heads that need ported was going to send them to BES. By the time you do their CNC program (and I see varying results) you will have almost what a set of Thiteks cost. I have $1000 in the stock Apache heads. What are the thoughts this is a NA 426 6.1.based deal race only will never see the street.

I went through this also. The Thitek's are a better head for a race motor because of the material they are cast from, bronze guides and ductile iron seats.

The ones in the pic are machined for Jesel's rocker system. Unless it's just a representative pic.

for sh!ts and giggles here's a 2.22 valve in a eagle head, should give you anIdea of what kind of room you have.

I did some mock up with the apache heads and a stock bore 6.1 I have here and it looks like it will be fine. I bought the heads next question I have is the comfort level using a solid stem 2.18 with beehive springs. I am planning to spin this thing 7300-7600. I am a little concerned. I was thinking of buying the hollow stem 2.18 manley sells and replace the solid stem valves. What's everyone's thoughts?

Sounds like $400 endeavor whether you change valves or springs. Except you may be able to sell the springs off your heads. I think it would be hard to sell the valves.

One point would be, not sure you can fit dual springs on Frankenstein's setup.

How much radial clearance did the Apaches and stock 5.7 bore have?

No idea.
IMO there is enough for it to open but add heat to it then shruggy
Good news is that it opens away from the wall.

3.917 bore it's about .060 for the 2.14, exhaust is about .010

I'll make it a point to get some photos up in the next week
