Okay so I was watching Sema Battle of the builders. And the guys from roadkill garage were walking around and remarked that some people are starting to transplant International Scouts onto Jeep frames. What do you guys think about putting a Ramcharger on a Jeep frame which would open up a huge amount of suspension possibilities as well as Wheel and Tire & Axle combos. Would the frame be Stout eNuff for Ramcharger body that might toe once in awhile.

1) I think the motor mounts might be eazy peazy to add the G3 Hemi.

2) Frame should be narrower than a 2012ish ram. NO wierd fwd offset looking wheels.

3) suspension should be soft enough to give a modern SUV ride but be able to cruise down the road at 80+ mile an hr and handle well. And maybe do some mall crawling.

Thoughs from those who have jeep experience

What generation/model Jeep frame are you thinking of? I just poked around a little, and found that the CJ5 wheelbase is only 2 inches different than a Ramcharger. Seems like an interesting and beneficial swap.

A CJ5 frame is a bit under sized for a Ramcharger, There is a Big weight difference between ad Jeep Tub and a Ramcharger body weight wise...Also if we are talking CJ suspension parts whats the advantage? why cant the same mods be made to the Mopar stuff? they are both buggy sprung

I was thinking JK series... like 2006 to 2017....I think the frames are sleeved in the middle making the wheel base mating easy.I know alot of guys are going to say why waste your time and just stick with the stock frame and suspension. I think a more modern suspension might make it ride like a modern suv... sort of

I wouldn't want a TJ or JK frame/suspension. They use coil-overs and wouldn't be much fun to mess with for any sort of conversion. They don't even work well for jeep guys wanting to do lifts and mods. I would look for a YJ frame/suspension. The YJ used leaf springs on all 4 corners like a CJ, however the YJ uses a full-box frame instead of the CJ's c-channel frame. The YJ also has a wider track width although I imagine you probably wouldn't be using the YJ axles anyway.
