Hi men and women of excellence!!

a simple question but a required question. we are transplanting a 05 gen 3 into a 67 belv the alternator for that year is external regulator and or controlled by the PCM. if we run the pig tail in and out of the current voltage regulator in the car we should be just fine correct? as I plan to do this with my 74 dart as well with my swap. I have read this is doable. true or false??

thank you all for your knowledge!!

Thank you
Kiddart

if you dont want alot of extra wiring there is a voltage regulator that goes inside the alternator making it a one wire effectively-----these are used on cummins motors where the computer regulator fails---it is a Transpo IN8315......i have them on my cummins conversions---really simple----can find them for $30....

Yep, external regulator works great on the early gen3 hemi alternators. At some point they changed to pwm control and the external regulator will not work. I forget the exact year.

External regulator on mine, I used it so that I can still hit a parts store for a replacement part, if i need it.

...now if we can just figure out how to get 392hemi to shrink his sig pic size. laugh2
