what are my options for 6.4 truck engine and auto trans in a 70 challenger swap? we were thinking NAG1 but seems too costly and complicated at this point.Im assuming a plain old SB727 would be the easiest but would really like an OD gear.......A518 maybe? appreciate any advice thnx!!

727 with a gear vendor would be your best bet for an overdrive without hacking on the car much. A 518 auto would be nice but it requires some tunnel work.

A 518 will fit an e-body without too much work as the crossmember is back further than a b-body( they need the t-bar crossmember modified). There are build threads if you google.

The '518' is just the original designation for the 727 based OD transmission. There are a few good how-to's out there to make it work depending upon how automated or manually controlled you want to go.

Pro Trans is finishing a move to Waco TX, look at Facebook for their new phone number.

The best in racing transmissions, I would assume the street transmissions would be first class as well.

A518 should be the easiest to install. There 46RH version can be used with 2 pressure switches and 2 timers.
