I have been reading on various sources on the net about the 440 RB engines, specifically, 70 model year. I've seen it stated, the muscle car, manual transmission, and severe duty engines received forged steel cranks. Also, I've seen it stated, as the cast cranks began to be used, the performance cars, trucks, severe duty vehicles, and manual transmission 440 vehicles, continued to receive forged steel cranks.
I gather from this, there were no 440 cast cranks used with manual transmissions( bored and machined for the input shaft nose ?)
Whats the story ?
Thanks!!

All 440 cranks prior to '73 were forged, when the cast crank was introduced in '73 it was generally only used in standard performance motors but later on it found its way into HP motors.

As far as cast cranks with manual transmissions, I'm fairly sure there were cast cranks used with MT's, especially near the end of production.

As to if bored in back for a manual snout I have a '65 383, a '68 383, a '67 440 and had a '70 440 and '77 440 all were bored to accept a manual.
Respectfully for the cars:
1965 Plymouth Fury III w/ 383 commando
1968 Dodge 2 wd 1/2 T pick up
1967 Imperial Crown Royal
1970 Plymouth Satalite 440 mag w/ slap stick
1977 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham
