Anyone know if there are spec's listed anywhere. The description seems generic like it covers all the blocks. The description say's billet caps. Love to know the cylinder wall thickness.I have a 6.4 BGE block that I had Arrington billet main caps,ARP studs and normal machine work done and have almost 3K in it.

5.7 Eagle block part # 53021314DR , any where from 800ish to 1100ish (summit sells them for $850 depending on who and where you go. there are no 03-08 blocks being casted (ANYWHERE) the Speed master block is a reman block ,line bored and honed. When they 1st listed them around X-mass the were 1500 introductory offer. the one I have here has Billet caps and ARP main studs deck is finished at 9.249.....your better off buying the summit version for the 03-08 (SUM-150160) doesn't come with billet caps but it's only $1200.

No I think you'll eventually be proven wrong. They make other blocks, the GIII is well within their capabilities. They say 4 bolt splayed caps, not 6 bolt cross bolted, plus thicker sections in some high stress areas. They have an aluminum chevy smallblock for less than 2750, plus other cast iron chevy blocks. Some are in stock, some out. They blew the bottom out of the Oldsmobile head market and likewise last year, the Cleveland head. It seems that they're getting their casting technology down. Machined in the USA. You know what that means, cast and rough machined, probably, in China.

So a bare early 5.7 block costs more than a brand new eagle short block?

R. They are gearing up for a 6.1 style casting before the end of this year....what they are selling at this point is nothing more then a race prep 5.7 factory block with Billet caps...same as summit but summit does not have the billet caps. They are more than capable to produce a G3 block but at this point they are NOT.....a redesign of the PRW PQX Modular Hemi roller tip rockers is also in the works ,but with 1.8 ratio.
