I’ve had my 2002 3500 dually 6spd for 8 years now and I pull my open car trailer with it, but now I bought a 30’ enclosed and it is noticeable.
Any advice on how I can get more power out of it?
I added an Airdog 150 fuel system and I have gauges as well so I’m good there.

Do you have an EDGE EZ by chance? They should have been standard and really smarten a stock 02 up.

I had a Bully Dog Triple Dog programmer, worked well enough to blow up the engine and ruin the trans! penguin

Edge EZ and RV 275 injectors for over 140K now.... I also built a trans with a stock overhaul kit and a Dave Goerend valve body kit and triple disc converter with 250rpm less stall speed.

For those others following along, If you have an auto trans even the EZ will run through the stock converter lockup clutch..... I did smile..... twice

FWIW my 01 long bed 4x4 with trailer loaded is only 17,800 combined.

As Sheldon stated throw the EZ on there.... you’ll slap yourself for not doing it years ago!

I prefer the ez as it’s “plug n play”. Very easy to put back to stock if needed for diagnostics.

I stopped at the Edge EZ because it helped it enough for me. I think after that the next stage is injectors. I replaced the exhaust on mine but it didn't do a thing. My son's 01 has a different turbo, manifold, fancy tuner etc. etc. but it isn't necessary I don't think, he just enjoys leaving his Ford buddies in the smoke. If you want lots of power I can find out what all he did if you like.

275 injectors is all you really need.

I had a 99 for a few years and an edge EZ was a great add. I think an EZ and some 275 injectors would make a real nice combo.

On my '01 automatic I had a Superchips Flashpaq programmer on it. I think it adds about the same power as the Edge EZ. I had it on the truck for 7 years (2011-2018) and was happy with it...big difference over stock. Always left it on the "heavy towing" setting. It really needed a tighter converter, but I never changed it. Pulled my 24' enclosed trailer w/ a 3500 lb car in it pretty well. I'm sure a converter would've made a huge difference.

Sold it this past fall and went Duramax.

I have a edge comp box and 100hp injectors, well I did the nozzles in my own injectors. Even with just the injectors, before I installed the comp, it was night and day. Best part of adding 200hp or so was I picked up mpg's. I used to tow almost daily, have to be careful with the egts when going up big hills.
