There's a pretty simple reason for that - they work incredibly well as plows. Every time a plow guy see's my old one, I always hear the same story - had one, was the best plow I ever had until it rotted away.

Yea, that is a fact! My old 77 3/4 ton was a great plow truck, and the 80 short box chassis I used under my 50 Dodge 4x4 was also a great plow truck. The 77 rusted away after only somewhere around 300,000 miles and was put to rest around 2002. The 50 Dodge on the 80 chassis replaced the 77, and it did very well right up until the lady turned in front of me and I hit her head on. That would have been 2011. The wreck put me out of the snow plowing business because all the plow brackets got bent in the crash. Gene

laugh2 You did a beautiful job on the truck but redoing those lines at least at the master cylinder would have made it even cleaner.

I'll have to try and remember rolleyes to carry the camera and take pic's.

The vintage Ford & Mopar trucks are not popular around here.
Like I said, most are rusty plow trucks and don't see the highway.

The ones for sale are not rusty and probably not local either.
They are almost all short bed 4wd.
Not my bag either.

I was taking about what you called "the few that are in decent shape are 5 or 6 grand", and I thought you were speaking of ones you see listed, and any others I would figure you had camera on cell phone. Not asking you to go out of your way or anything. Just comes natural to me when I see old Mopars. Thanks just the same though.

72-79 seems to be hot here in the SW. Same in California. I’m in the process of buying a 74 Stepside, getting it for 4K. That’s the best I’ve seen price wise in quite awhile. Club cabs seem to be the most in demand.

Yep, there all pretty hot I think from 72-80. Good luck with your purchase!

Here is my plow truck. It's an '85 Power Ram Royal SE 150 4x4. I got it 10 years ago for $2K. It's getting rusty but it's been a great reliable truck.

[quote=RWG75]Now here is somebody that is very out of touch with 72-80 values and no, I wouldn't touch what he's smoking. Listed as an 80 with an ask of $26k. Yes, $26,000.

Unless the south american produced trucks are way different than north american trucks, this thing is one of the worst resto flips I've seen. Even if half this stuff was correct, I don't think I'd touch it.

79 grille, 76 or earlier cab (in cab fuel tank), strange bumpers / mirrors / air cleaner, automatic w/ manual brake pedal, home made looking wheel wheels in the bed, goofy dash vents is odd places, ya gotta see the throttle linkage to believe it.

I admire the attempt
The inner wheel tubs in the bed have been slicked out. Looks like a standard Mexico truck with the foot pump for the windshield washer. Haven't seen any with SE trim, only base trim. I'd say that they had a U.S. parts truck or two

Yeah that's kind of a funny subject.
Most folks don't believe my phone is still hanging on the wall in the other room. I only have three rooms. Bed room, bath room, and the other room. Takes three rings for me to get to the other room.
If it rings three times, I didn't get to it.
Folks who know me call back a couple times.
I am living in the past, and I like it here. grin
If it weren't for the grand kids, I would not be able to access the web. at all.

The trucks I see are on the side of the road with a 4 sale sign.
Taking pics for me means remembering to bring the digital camera along on my travels. I will try 2 remember 2 bring it, as I do get around the state often enough. I will post what I find.
Currently I only know of a rough '70's Chevy-pick-up with a shop name on the door and a price of $1500. I am hoping to talk him down as I have a 64 Impala that needs a drive train. He's being stubborn but that is part of the game we play.
I haven't seen a Dodge for a couple years now.
Will post anything I see.

^If I could I'd be without a cell I'd be without one too!!!! I don't blame you one bit!

Right now we use them so much at work to communicate off radio.

As much as I like having one, I dislike it more.

Good for you!
