What brand/type of trans (727) and brake fluids (manual) are you running in your Mopar?

Any brand +4 or HyGard hydrostat fluid in the tranny and DOT 5 for the brakes.

Castrol DOT 4 brake fluid, but I wouldn't hesitate to use other brands of DOT 4. Don't currently own a 727, but when I did, Valvoline type F, but other brands would be acceptable too.

I'm pickier about brands when it comes to other fluids, but not those.

I`m going with Dot 5 this time around in my current build since everything will be new. I have it in another car I own and I have had no issues. I used Type F last time in my 904 but I`m not sure what I am going to use this time. Looking to see what others recommend here.

I was also told to use DOT 5. I was advise DOT 5 does not damage the paint in the event there is an accident and fluid leaks/spills.

I always hear Type F for firmer shifts but not best for the 727.

I go with what trans shop owner of over 30 years here in town tells me to use in my 727 for best durability; Dex/Merc.

Facts are stubborn things.

I use regular old dot 3 fluid for brakes. I've never had any brake issues and my cars never failed to stop. It was recommended to me from Dave at Protrans to use Type F (any brand) in the 727 he built for my Charger. In the past I've used both the Dodge recommended fluid and Type F in 727 trans. Again I've never had a fluid related issue in any 727 in any of my cars or trucks that had a 727

That`s the main reason I am using it this time around being I will have new paint.

what happens to a 727 [and converter] if one switches to the [any old brand] type F from a synthetic fluid ? i have never had a failure from using type F in any 727 or 904, [and even using dex 3 in the later front drives that are supposed to use +4] but i have absolutely no experience with synthetics.
just a drain and refill, not a fresh rebuild, and there will still be some synthetic that won't be totally drained.

Use walmart brand Type F. You can buy other brands but there isn't much reason to.

For brake fluid I use DOT 5.Like others said no paint problems if there is any spillage. The ATF I use is whatever the local parts stores stock but I was told by John K.on this board was to use a 50/50 mix of Dexron and Type F.I've been doing it that way for years without any problems.

"high performance brake fluid"

"Wilwood does not recommend using DOT 5 fluid in any racing applications." LOL

There is no letter T in the word DEXRON. WTH is dextron? Some sort of 80's techno fluid?

Cope and his home built trans are pretty comical. Had a friend spec out a complete trans for a 10 second racecar. Burnt up in 2 days at the track. Cope was like, "Oh I had a bad run of valve bodies but thought I had those fixed". Gee thanks CRT!
