Installing vinyl tops is a dying art and not many people left who can actually do one and do a good job.
I hired a guy whom is in his late 60's and has been in the trade for decades.
Lucky to get him and did a great job.

As for holes,I let the installer handle that on the vinyl top that he supplied.
The FSM for my car did show where to cut.

Cheers

I did it a few years ago on my 69 Coronet. It's not that hard to do, but you need to spend some time measuring and aligning everything before you glue down the top.
The most important thing to get right is finding the centerline of the roof and aligning the vinyl top with it. I used masking tape on the windshield and the back glass as reference marks and notches cut into the front/rear edges of the vinyl top to align the roof and the top.
After that, you fold the top in half and start gluing down only the center and then work towards the drip rails.
That's a quick rundown, hope it helps.
