The studs on my pot metal side marker housings (69 RR) are somewhat worn down to where they are not holding the nut on. I was thinking I could use some JB Weld on the studs and recut the threads using a die. Is this the best idea or what has others used? Is there different types of JB weld also? The one I bought just looks like a bottle of superglue.

You need the two part black and gray stuff.

It can run and sag until it sets up so you might want to watch for that.

try hammering the top of the nuts,sometimes that closes them up enough for a good bite on the stud.
