Sounds like your dad is doing you a favor by staying out of your parts decisions. As Dirty Harry once said 'A good man knows his limitations'.

You have come to probably the best place on the planet for sound, experienced Mopar information. Post your budget, desired power level, and intended use and you will get plenty of responses.

My F body has been 1.53 60ft with the oval rubber Main leafs. I did ditch the rubber housing insulators.

I also want to stroke it because I think it will be a good project, and if I ever want to go with more power I’ll already have it stroked out.

Good plan! You can always buy the base Stealth or Edelbrock aluminum head and then send them off for cnc porting later.

I have a very mild 505 and it is lots of fun. Never rev over 6400.
