Looking for 64-65 2 door for NSS. 2 doors are expensive, stock or modified. The Gapp & Rousch Tijuana Taxi has body lines that obscured that 4 door look. I've been coming across many 4 doors that are in good shape with just a need in change of running gear, which I have. Many of the early 4 door Mopars were available with BB 413, 426. Other than removing the back door door pulls, any other tips to get that somewhat 2 door look. I saw back doors welded shut and that in itself was a major undertaking. Had a neighbor that did the 4 to 2 conversion. The body work was quite expensive, so I'm not looking to go that route.

Its very hard to do. Back in the 60's-70's, I did the street race scene. Some of the most entertaining street cars were 4 doors. Single tire burnouts with bald tires by the end of the night, the missed shifts from L,2,D,N to R and watching mom and dad show up and pull their kid out of the drivers seat.... all those fonder memories lead to a long term stigma with those 4 doors. There's always that "taxi" theme.

I have 5 so far if I count the 2004 Ram. I love 4-doors.

The 62-65 2 door and 4 door share the same body. Move the B pillar back. Install 2 door doors. Patch the 1/4 panel with a piece of the 4 door skin. Instant 2 door sedan from a pristine 4 door. Though my son says converting his 62 4 door to a 2 door would only result in a ugly 2 door.

Nah, Doug, '62s are wicked cool!
But yeah, nothing says "sleeper" quite like extra doors.
I got around that with the '63 & '64 savoy wagons I did a few years back; long roofs improve traction!

Rear doors help with weight transfer too.

Plus the extra humiliation factor when a 2-door racer loses to a sedan...... boogie

Most 4 door cars are way better balanced then the 2 door versions.

There is a Facebook 4-door lovers group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/818892378200338/?ref=bookmarks if you want to 'share' your ad to the group?

The N/SS car that has won the most races in history is a 4 door. Doug Duells wagon. Al Wilson runs a 4 door. I've seen a 63 Dodge 4 door run as well.

been looking for a newer pickup. Still hate the 4 door look, with the uselessly short beds of todays trucks. can't find a conventional cab with 8' bed to save my life. (would really like a cab and a 1/2 but I also want to stick with Dodge)

6' beds are useless to me too.

It took a while, but I found a used 2004 Ram quad cab 4-door with an 8" bed & 4 wheel drive.

Longer than most, but I do love 4-doors.

Over 40,000 happy miles on it so far......

Removing the rear door handles is cheaper but, I agree, not the same as a 2-door conversion.

decades ago I read an article where they grafted the rear "section" of a 2dr onto a prized 4dr to make it a 2dr & it stuck in me cuz they were just all over themselves like they had struck the motherlode (this article might have been touched on above posts).
