Neil, see if your guy can do the "camo look" with 3 shades of silver. Probably won't have the sharp angular edges, but might get you close.
Or, have a wrap made, like from the photo above. But that won't likely stand up to heat.
Best solution is to find NOS like AndyF.

Now considering silver leaf gilding with clear over it. Not sure it's possible to get the sharp edges with it though???
