I'm putting together a 493 stroker. 10.5:1 compression, indy ez heads, mopar single plane intake, going with a hydraulic roller cam. looking at the comp extreme energy cam duration 292/300, lift 549/544. is it descent? will it have a good rumble? don't want it to idle like a truck lol.

I think you're talking about the XR292HR-10 cam. That cam is 242/248 at 050 so it should be okay for street driving with a 500 inch engine. It will have a bit of a lope at idle but should have decent manifold vacuum. With headers and a 3 inch exhaust it would be fairly loud and have some rumble to it at idle.

There is an interesting hydraulic roller that 440 Source has that is a custom grind from Comp Cams. It's a 571 lift and a little longer duration for 500" engines with good flowing heads. I was looking at a 588 for my 493 with EZ's but I may go with this 571 instead.
Duration at 50 is 252 In and 258 ex 110 lobe center

242/248 at fifty is more like what I'd use in a hot street 440. Small for a street/strip stroker IMO.

I've had a couple of friends have problems with the Comp hydraulic roller lifters. Go with the Howards lifters.

I use this cam and it works really well on the street:

I used that cam in a similar 505 for a customer. Trick Flow 240 heads, 1.6, rockers, 10.1 CR, and Indys dual plane manifold. It sounded healthy, and made well over 600 hp on 91 pump premium.
