Is that an example of the CNC program that also has a cuttered finish added, or the prototype head that you based your CNC program on?
Do you farm out your seat & guide work? From my master to the 4 sets we got they changed the castings So I had to hand blend a bunch of stuff in. We will re-do ports and digitize again🤦♂️ I only have stones for valve jobs so yes Randy cuts most of my square seat stuff All with cutters I pick/design.

Very cool. A couple questions.... What size are the intake valves ? The block is 48 degree...yes ? Were there any big problems besides push rod clearance ? Are the rockers common shaft ? I am guessing that they need to be offset as well as the lifters ? Finally , do you use Chev bolt pattern on the damper ? I did with my deal just to open up options for belt driven accessories , but not having the capacity to fab the shiny bits sort of forced my hand. Sorry.....one more. Who's cam drive ? That is really a work of art. 2.200" intake Yes 48° We started with pro port heads so we did pushrod CNC clearance program. We cut the common shaft off and had Jesel shafts made (thanks to the Buckner's) Letting us piggy back off the custom rockers they had made. We will be changing system up as we can only get 1.8 rockers as of right now. Cam drive is Jesel. Yes I always order Chevy front. Be crazy to get Mopar front. Lifter on intake has to be offset. We got offset exhaust but really did not need them. This is a thrash to get on the dyno before PRI.

you know at 1st I was going to say Valve guide, then I noticed what I think your asking about, in the Exhaust pic it's off to the right side on the wall across from the stem?

I think maybe you could change what port is doing by a small margin with surface finish.
But most of the time a rough finish will make more power than smooth. Do you have the same thoughts on surface finish as Larry Meaux and Chad Speier now?

On Facebook Brett said "She is fighting us.".
Pure speculation on my part but I am guessing it may take a bit to perfect that new manifold and it may be awhile before we see the dyno numbers. LOL, wrong again. Impressive numbers but they are looking for more.

Amazing work Brett. Edelbrock Owes you a huge thanks way I see it.. your hard work has proven the idea... with the intake Port height that you have came up with in this head potentially could be a class killer If someone would step up And try it

Maybe, just maybe, they can pull some strings on getting blocks done. That head and a good block, BINGO! Maybe an intake manifold? That would help too.

I was on the Edelbrock stand, it was today or yesterday. One of the Edelbrock guys was showing Herb McCandless around, made a point of showing Herb Brett's ported head. Really talked up the good results and Brett's hard work, and what might happen in the future. Just thought I'd mention it

That's cool to hear.
Did you get to check head out ?
Did you get to see the engine ?
Sorry we did not catch up. There were a few guys I missed,I'll be back at some point. I went by and checked out your handy work on a few occasions over the three days of the show. I will be telling a good friend about what you're achieving, he's got a few Victor headed engines almost finished. Hopefully I'll convince him to run something with a decent port on his next customers build.
