A990 OP master Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 2,724 541 slobovia	I swapped to new bearings, seals and after torquing the pinion nut to 210 ft/lbs, the rotating torque is 60 in/lbs. The FSM says 35 in/lb max for new bearings. Is this going to cause problems? Or do I need to redo the crush sleeve and start over. TIA Ken

Moparteacher mopar M Joined: Jul 2008 Posts: 607 Boise	Are the bearings lubricated? Is the seal lubricated? Take a brass punch and strike the pinion for and aft, and measure again.

It's easier to do the crush sleeve over now rather than later after its all back together. BTW I wouldn't recommend striking the pinion with a drift and hammer either as it can cause brinelling of the races or put flat spots on the rollers.
