I have a 2007 Jeep Patriot and having problems with the windshield wipers.
When they started acting up they would go very slow and not work at times.
They do not work at all now. I checked the power and ground going to the motor. All seemed ok, so when I would ground the motor and linkage to the battery they would work. Also when the Jeep is on and you turn the wipers on the dash would light up like a xmas tree and you will see bu5 as the info. Tried the wiper switch and the turn signal switch no change. Must be Tipm?
Mopar ss# the rebuilt one $375.00 to a new one $1000.00.
What to do.
Thanks Bob

Bob, I don't know if this helps but about 4 years ago, my 07 Ram wipers began slowly exhibiting similar symptoms - wipers slowing down, intermittent levels weren't responding. Ultimately, they just quit working. Not cool when winter was fast approaching!

I initially thought it was either of the two switches. Didn't get as far as testing grounds but I quizzed couple of friends with 07 and 08 Rams, with similar wiper issues, and they replaced their wiper motors. I did the same and they work like new again. $155 my dealer cost for a new motor. Comes complete with the linkage rods. twocents

Thanks for the reply Tim. I replaced the wiper motor but did the same thing. I run a ground wire to motor and the wiper work. Strange because the ground to the wiper motor checks out good.
