does the hurst shifter knob on a 1964 Plymouth sport fury, 426 st wedge, 4 speed shows the gear pattern and the rest of the knob white? And the 1964 Plymouth sport fury 426 max wedge, hurst shifter knob show gear pattern and the sides of the shifter knob spells hurst?

My '64 Polara BB 4 speed has the original Hurst shifter and the ball shows the shift pattern and is white. The chrome shifter arm has Hurst etched on each side. There is no Hurst lettering on the ball at all.

My '65 Coronet had a black ball with no markings. The shifter handle says Hurst. I suppose someone could've replaced the factory white ball with an aftermarket black one. I never really thought about it much. This four speed has been sitting on a cart in my shop for 30 years. I installed a Doug Nash 5 speed into the car in 1988 so the four speed doesn't have a home.

Were those Hurst shifters the type that you had to push the handle down to go into reverse? The Hurst I bought new in 63 was that type.
