I took last Friday off as I wasn't having any luck getting a weekend day to cut the grass and do 2 oil changes. Glad I used the vacation day, as the grass is cut, lawnmower is put away for winter, as is my convertible now. A week later, snow on the ground and salt on the streets. whiney

We're just west of St.Louis and we got a light dusting last night.
The ground was too warm at that point so it only stuck on plants and vehicles a little.

Have I mentioned how much I hate winter. laugh2

We got about an inch and a half overnight. Everything was white except the roads, and most of the sidewalks. That is good, because I had gotten everything done except getting the snow blower up from the bottom garage. I usually have everything ready by Oct 31, because I've been burnt by early snow falls before. This year I missed the boat, way too many distractions. Hopefully this stuff will melt (like they say it will) and I can get the blower up before we get blasted.

I have an elevation change of an 8' rise in less then 24' between the lower garage and the upper garage, and that area is grass. Its a bear to get the blower up to the upper garage if there is any snow on the ground because of the steep incline. Even being self propelled doesn't help much, not much traction for that incline if the grass is wet, and worse if there is snow there, it has to come up the hill in reverse. Gene

I still have another month of leaves and grass cutting down here. The last two years I’ve got the snowblower ready to go only not to need it. The only time it was stared was to run the gas out of it to summerise it. Hope I don’t need it again this year.

Best investment ever no snow accumulations in 6 of the 8 years I’ve owned it.

I just bought a small Toro 2 days ago. I'm hoping your theory is correct.

Stu looks a little chilly there maybe you should come and warm up raking a few leaves. It’s like having a free gym membership. Lol

Killer Stu!!! bow

Thursday and Friday we had crazy cold, windy and rainy weather. I have 4 large trees that dropped all there leaves in 48 hours!! Holy crap!! I have just spent 2 hours running my commercial mower over them. I have cut up 80% of them. Then I used a gas blower to blow them out of the landscaping and then got on the mower to cut them up a 3rd time.

Fired up a large burn pile that has built up since spring by me and 2 of my neighbors and burned the sh!t out of it this afternoon since we have have calm winds and wet conditions.

Been a few years since they all came down at once and got ahead of me. Still have to clean gutters before winter.

I drove from Chicago to Rockford to DeSoto, MO on Thursday, down to West Plains and St. Robert, MO on Friday to Indy then up to Cleveland area on Saturday and saw my fill of snow already! It was coming down hard around Imperial and Herculanium, MO Thursday night! eek
