Organisol. Lot of different ways to get a very CLOSE finish, fewer that are absolutely correct.

actually , the wing is not supposed to be painted, if your want to be absolutely correct original. however if the finish is not acceptable you have 2 choices, either paint it with whatever satin or semi gloss single stage paint( clear will make it glossy.) or you carefully wet sand the plastic with 1500,2000,2500,AND THEN polish the plastic wing until you receive the finish you desire.depending on the "original " detail you desire , be careful when sanding away any molding seams if you are looking for oem detail. just my version, but if no repairs are needed then wet sand and polish is my best thought, but then again im seeing what you are seeing.

Well, many years ago I tried a PPG formula for Organisol that uses a certain percentage of a flattening agent and a grit additive---I didn't like it. I ended up spraying samples of rattle can semi gloss, semi flat, satin etc looking for something I liked.

Eventually I used Total Auto's rattle can product (kinda spendy, for cans, but their stuff is very much a specialty product) and was pleased with the result.

I would use SEM trim black or SEM hot rod black....if you mist the last 2 coats on from a distance it will give you some texture. Original organosol is tricky to lay down. If you get the texture too rough it is hard to clean. It will catch a microfiber towel and leave a mess. twocents

I was under the impression the GO WING (70-early 71 application) is painted, and the GULL WING (71 application) is "smooth" as molded plastic finish?
