I have a 5.7 hemi in a 2010 Ram 1500 with 125,000 miles on it. I plan to keep it to 200,000 miles. I have had this truck since it was new. What's the most miles anyone has on theirs without opening it up? My truck still runs like new, but there are few people that dropped valve seats around my current mileage. I would just like to hear from people who have achieved near my target mileage or more without problems.

I've got a 2004 Ram 2500 4wd with 299,000 miles on it.
I haven't had any major repairs or problems with it, till now...

My father in law borrowed it and when he was on his way back to my house it died.

When I try to start it now it starts, makes noise and then dies and won't restart.

The only DTC that show up is for the #8 fuel injector.

I'm thinking that it's either a broken valve spring or the timing chain (but why would it even start if it's the timing chain).

I need to tear into it to figure it out but I've been too busy with the new garage project.

Up till that point it's been pretty much trouble free.
Just brakes and oil changes, the maintenance stuff...

Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

my 2011 ram 4x4 5.7 had 270,000 before the cam went flat because a roller lifter quit rolling, everything elase in the engine looked almost new. Bearings did look new, cylinders had crosshatch all the way up still butt you could feel very slight distortion at the top.

Almost 53,000 on my 08 H.Q.C. on its second engine about 7,000 on it. Took to friends trans shop for trans service ,did it and i told him to change engine oil while he had it, well they put the new filter on and backed it out of the shop… minus engine oil!!! almost $6000 for new engine and installation, his insurance covered it and only cost me a few hundred as i replaced starter, alternator and a few other things while apart. Oh yeah i don`t go there anymore.

312,000 on my 2007 Ram 1500 5.7.
I had a MDS lifter conk out at 59,000 but since then, it has been fine. I've had to replace the EGR valve, a thermostat and the usual oil and filter change.
It has used some oil since 150,000 miles but not too much. Power isn't much different from when it was new.

I ran my last two to 165k and 175k. Performance and oil consumption as new when I traded. I did a water pump on both, an exhaust manifold on one and a fan clutch on one.

Solid engines in my experience.

I have 185,000 on my 2012 4X4. Towed a trailer for 2/3rds of that mileage. Only oil changes and front brakes and tires have been changed. It just recently developed an issue which I believe is the mds lifter/cam problem. Trying to limp it along until I can buy the parts which are not cheap.

Sold our 2006 Durango 4WD HEMI with 208K on the clock about 3 years ago. It still ran great, used about 2 quarts of oil in 6000-7000 miles oil change intervals. I had it since 2006 with 38K miles on the clock and changed the oil with synthetic every 6-7K after we got it. The problems I had were: EGR valve at 86K, both exhaust manifolds needed to be decked and studs replaced between 140 and 160K, alternator died at 176K, water pump started seeping at 185K.
