Quick qun,

Given there's less bolts to toque em down with (8 instead of 16_...what do you guys who are using Indy 8 bolt intakes and Millenium head intakes torque them at ?

Also, re-torquing a 426-8 Hemi intake means the lid/top has to come off more than once till the gaskets take a set. I know Superformance gaskets will take less re-torquing but the lid will still have to come off more than once to access the bolts inside.

Those 1/4" bolts ain't gonna take much more torque for more clamp than the std torque specs.

Interested in your thoughts guys ?

I've heard of 10 bolts and I've heard of 6 bolts. I think the 10 bolt use 5/16" bolts and I thought the 6 might use 3/8" bolts. I know some super stock guys only use 8 of the 1/4" bolts. They are in the stock location. It's just to make teardowns easier. Is that what yours is like?

Its an Indy 426-8 and uses the std Hemi 1/4" bolts.

Given you have less bolts to seal with around the ports, are the TQ specs the same or higher? 1/4" bolts (even grade 8) with only take around 9 ft lbs of TQ.

I'm curious more than anything

I don't worry about the bolts. I worry about the aluminum threads in the head. I use studs because of this. I would use the stock torque specs. And you will have to retighten them everytime you drive it until it settles. 99% of people just overtorque them and then they probably don't have to do that.
