Does anybody know the weight savings for swapping to a rear disc brake kit over a stock drum brake setup? I'm looking at a wilwood dynalite kit for my new rear axle.

I went from 11 X 2" to a Wilwood with the Explorer type internal parking brake and lost 16 pounds.

Mopar Action did a two part article in the previous 2 magazines (not the one that just came out) where they swapped new Jeep rear disc setup. I think they lost about 25 pounds.

The stock 10" drums weigh about 36 pounds complete.
What is the shipping weight of the aftermarket stuff ?

Did you use the street or drag setup on these? The rotors are a lot thinner on the darg kits.

When I did the BAER iron sport rear on the Bee ,similar to DR diffs 11.7" kit. I measured 16 lbs each side weight loss , 35 lbs 11x2.5 drums to 19 lbs disk.

It's the street kit, the race brakes I looked at didn't have the parking brake and are much lighter.
