Anyone have a photo of the location of the road lamp switch location on a rallye dash? Do you run a relay with your road lamps? I read somewhere that a relay was not necessary to operate the road lamps but may be required for other functions.

70 and 71 have different relays and the wiring is also different..if you are running the original switch, most of them won't handle the full 12 volts through them, hence the relay.as for the mounting, they are different locations..standard dashes are under the headlight, wiper, dimmer panel..

It hangs in front of the heater controls. Just to the left of the fan "OFF" lettering.

The road lamp switch on a rallye dash mounts on the bottom left lower frame. There will be a D shape punched hole along with a small hole in front of it to line up the switch bezel.

The contacts inside either the 70 or 71 road lamp switch are just too small to support the current swing directly to the front lamps, which is why they used a relay.
