Looking in the Holley catalog it shows a #34 front plate to have .029 idle hole, .052 main hole, and #35 to have .029 idle and .071 main. I have 4 #34 and 6 # 35 plates here and the 34 has.036 idle, about .090 mains, #35 has .036 idle and .089 .095 mains, all are undrilled as you can see reamed holes with plating, I take it modern plates will no longer work, or catalog misprint. Common sense tells me a .052 will not feed a 1-3/4 bbl, so what is correct for stock.

It made my head spin when I looking for a replacement plate for my carb. There is some great info here, about halfway down, on metering plates.

Hope this helps.

I took 3 different 440 stock I think setups apart, here is what I found....

Center
64 jets
.025 squirter
6.5 power valve
.046 pvcr
.028 high speed bleed
.055 idle air bleed
.078 throttle plate hole

Front
#34 plate with .089 mains .036 idle
.078 throttle plate hole
.038 high speed bleed
.055 idle air bleed
.043 kill bleed

Rear
#35 plate .086 diaphram side, .093 throttle side, .036 idle
.078 throttle blade hole
.038 high speed bleed
.055 idle air bleed
.043 kill bleed

I also have a mopar tuning kit with the plates and springs from the 80s and it has the same 34 and 35 plates with the same size restrictions, I assume they were just stock 6bbl plates? I highly doubt these 3 setups all had their plates changed

All big block 70 up used the 34/35 plate, all small block used a 41 front and rear,69 1/2 used 6178 front,6180 rear.Don't remember the mmo on the 69 1/2 plates, don't have time to check but they are different. Also,"if" I remember correctly, the 69 1/2 front and rear throttle plates have no hole.

I can't remember if the 69.5 rear throttle blades are drilled, been decades since I had any of those, sanded a lot of sticky blades. the 69 metering plates out of a 1980s mopar kit measure as follows, I do not know how that compares to a stock set.
6178
.032 idle
.083 diaphram side
.090 throttle side
6180
.032 idle
.076 diaphram
.076 throttle
