I bought the ones from Year One, and the small one is a little too large in O.D., although usable, but the big one is too small I.D. I could probably force it on, but I don't want to have to force it on.

The best hose is Gates green stripe but is thicker wall than the factory stock type.

Gates would be my choice.

I wanted to stick with correctly labeled, period correct hoses.

The thing about "correctly labeled" hoses is the source of the hose. You will not know where it came from. Hoses are the same price, but add 4X more just for label. Might want to check with Dave at Roseville and get some feedback.
I had correct labeled power steering return hose that swelled up and felt slimy that came right off and made a mess. Will never get one of those again. It happened to several others. I ended up getting Gates hose and never looked back.

Wasn't somebody making stamps for the hose part #s?
That'd be closer to the OEM look.

Roger Gibson is the way to go, it looks like. Pricey, but correct.

I know Year One is proud of those hoses, and I remember when they came out with them years ago they were the only game in town, but the hoses are very stiff, difficult to work with. Forcing the hose on the easily cracked heater core is a real risk.

Try Mancini’s. I had success with theirs. Some of the more generic restoration part guys are reselling the Year One stuff, so you want someone who is doing their own.

Gave the Year One hoses a shot recently. Stiff is not the word. Need to make an air hammer attachment to get them on!

I actually tried things like soaking them in boiling water to try and get them to loosen up, no difference!

Not encouraging when you experience bad hoses from Yearone. Has anyone given them feedback? Im sure no one else wants them either.

I bet you have an aftermarket heater core installed...

I bought a set of those authentic repoduction heater hoses from a seller on E-bay for my 69 car about 8 or 9 years ago. They are still going strong today. No issues with them yet or with the fit. But they are a bit pricey at around $70 to $80 dollars a set depending if you have AC or not.

Older post,,,,but, I have found a jolt of WD 40 into hose and onto heater connectors works very well. Very aware of fragility of these heater cores.

Mick. Just sent you an email.
