I'm looking into buying new stripes and decals for my 1970 Duster 340 project. I checked Performance Car Graphics website and I was surprised to see that they mention about differences between factory applied and dealer decals.
According to their site, original new car rear cloud decals had white eyes whereas dealer supplied decals had gold eyes.
I have never heard of this difference prior to reading this yesterday. Can anybody confirm that this is true?

They are white on all of the original 340s I have pictures of but I do have one of a 70 Gold Duster /6 with gold eyes (still have the car). So, while I agree they made both versions, I'm pretty sure the gold versions were not specific to a dealer replacement.

I have some NOS decals that have white eyes. I bought them through the dealer in 1980. I'll probably buy new reproductions because I don't want to take a chance on 40+ year old adhesive.
