I'm thinking you need to slightly lengthen the linkage for more pawl engagement into the trans.

Are you at a dead stop when shifting to Park? If the car lurches a little after shifting to Park and the grinding occurs, it's not fully in Park and, as suggested, the linkage is the problem.
Has it always done this or did it just start?

Its not fully in park the back tires turn by hand at the moment.they shouldn't unless its out of park.the lever is in park not the linkage.hopin thats all it is the linkage not further damage.that grindin was bad.could the bands be out of adjustment?

I have the car on jack stands ounce The wheel do stop when in park.every time i pit in park it will grind.i know it isnt good thats why hurry up and shut it off. Are you using the brake to stop the rear wheels from moving before shifting into Park? If so, your rear brakes may not be working.

Yeah I have been bit by that (when up on stands) cuz your brain automatically thinks that you are "stopped" (& OK to go into park) cuz the car ain't moving.

one wheel peel will let the wheels turn, on jack stands, when in park. They will turn different directions.

Looks like a console rod to me, but did you check for missing/worn plastic bushings as suggested earlier?

Did you try adjusting it first? Shifter in park, loosen the 1/2 " head bolt so it will slide on the rod, push the Trans lever fully rearward then tighten the bolt.

No one knows where to find throttle rod bushings at? Throttle rod bushings for the shift linkage? Try looking for shift linkage bushings part # 3575434.

I need the two bushing that go at end of the lower rod. If you're talking about the lower rod mentioned earlier, there are no bushings at the rod ends. The plastic bushings shown above are used in the vertical linkage rod.

Ok,though there was black bushings one that goes into transmission control lever lever that the rod goes into and the other at the end of torque shaft that the rod goes into?

You're saying the shift lever looks like the second from the left in the pic below? If so, that's not normally a console shift lever and that might be the source of your problem. Console levers look like the two on the right.
