Got thumbs up from a group of college guys in a lifted F350 diesel (Hey! What year is that???), an old dude in a late 80s 911 turbo, an 84 Trans Am ( laugh ), and a bunch of 9 and 10 year old girls from the team that my daughter's soccer team played against this afternoon. One of them said, "Oh my god, that car is sick! I love it!" A pretty interesting mix of people, all loving the screaming chicken and the t-tops. thumbs

It was in the parking lot after her soccer game. The other team walked by just as I fired it up to back out of the parking space, and they went crazy. It was pretty cool, seeing as most kids that age (girls especially) couldn't care less about cars in general, let alone old ones.

It really is. It runs great, pulls hard down low, sounds really nice with 2.5 inch exhaust and some generic tubro mufflers on it.

Back in the mid-90s when I had my '78 Gold SE T/A I would get a lot of thumbs-up from the HS kids usually. Several times I had a girl in a red '82 or so T/A would pull up next to me and rev her engine, then laugh. laugh2 She looked HS age also.
Mine also was a WS6/W72 car. Only thing I did to it was cut the back of the shaker out. Really woke that car up. up

I say yes it is worth it!! The LS GM V8 is a great engine. That platform- the 2002 Trans Am/Camaro weighs ALOT less than the current Camaro and Challenger. You are getting fantastic acceleration, mileage, handling and all the other fun things for 10K. That WS6 TA will outrun all but the hottest current offerings from the big 3. Plus you have endless and AFFORDABLE aftermarket support should you want to go faster. My brothers first love is his 521 stroker pro street challenger he built himself. But in 2017 he bought the same car you are asking about. Stock it was incredible. But he did the TB, headers, cat back exh, 75hp shot of NOS and a retune. Car is even more incredible while still getting awesome mileage and ice cold AC. Great value, nice looking car and best thing is the one you referenced has been meticulously taken care of.

In 1977 our neighbors 19 and 21 year old sons got a new car each. Bill got a gold 78 TA with the 400 and Jerry got a Z-28 with the 350. They immediately drag raced. The TA kicked the camaros seed sack. So camaro owner paid to have hedman headers, new exhaust installed along with a Performer intake and Holley vacuum secondary carb. (Crazy thought- this was a brand new car and Im certain he voided his warranty by having this done.) They raced again and the TA still smoked it just s bad! Camaro owner Jerry was the older brother and he was PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The 400 PONTIAC motor ran great for that smog control heavy era. Theyre nice cars plain and simple.
