Does anyone know of an aftermarket 904/A500 converter cover that will take a lockup clutch? I'm currently running a re-worked stocker, but would like another 300 RPM stall.

I had a TCI Hole Shot converter years ago when I was still running a 360/500. It was rated at 2400 and had lock-up.

The issue with high stall and lock up is that
the area in the bell housing isnt thick enough
for them.. I was going to have one built for a
518 but it was crazy pricey.. I'm running a
4800 stall 8" in my Rampage behind a 416ci.. it has
OD but no lock up.. it has a switch for OD or I
can leave it on and it will shift into OD as
soon as it hits high gear.. I mainly leave it on
for the OD most of the time.. I only turn it off
if I am racing it

Lockup converters are no different externally from non-lockup.

Unless you plan on using lockup while wide open throttle - any good converter shop can build you one using the correct core.

Yeah, my current converter is a PTC unit comparable to the Holeshot/MP166K 904 lockup converters. The core they built it from was from a Dakota R/T.

I've got less than 500 mi on the setup, so I'm thinking it might loosen up a bit given more miles.

I did not know that about the bell housing, I thought I smelled a hole in the market but now I see why. The only answer I got as to why was "no one makes a billet front cover for a lockup 904."

The guy who did my trans for me did say there were lockup covers available for LU 727/518s. I was already committed to the 999 though.

I really only use the LU for cruising. It has a noticeable impact on fuel economy in the 40-60 range.

Its sounds like he wants to run it hard in lock up and
any OD trans that I run wont take that.. it fries the OD
clutch.. the 3 places that I went to said they needed
more room in the bell for more clutch.. I could add
a spacer to the trans to move it back for room but all
that just cost more
