All info From Yellowbullet. Nice to see a track make a come back, and reopen. http://www.midamericadragway.com/Been closed for a few years. The good thing is not a lease situation but the guys actually bought the track and the adjoining land so it wont be open for a year and they lose the lease etc. Met the guys doing it and they are dedicated to making it work and their excitement for it makes me think this will be a long term thing. Great track, great people it's a win win. I will be there http://www.midamericadragway.com/about.html

That is a cool place, its on an old airport and the pits are concrete and are huge! Its good to see it back open, I have been there a few times but have never raced there. I hope to change that soon.

I love to speculate (or as my wife says I love to make wild assed guesses and then claim a cheesy victory when one of my guesses is correct) as to why this happened.
I hope it's because no prep racing is putting life back into these tracks. Line that junk [censored] up and run them (hardly junk [censored] anymore but the point is the same) and whoever gets their first is the winner.
I hope that's what it is. IMO bracket racing has nearly killed off the spectator side of racing. I love drag racing but I don't want to watch bracket racing. Not even fast bracket cars.
Two cars leave, one cars wins is much easier to grasp than all the dial in, fender grabbing, finish line dumping stuff.
Let's hope more of these tracks can get back up and running.
Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

Let's hope more of these tracks can get back up and running. With you there 100%, I've been a spectator myself now for the last 4yrs, watching paint dry has got more interesting than watching "racing"...nothing but brkts/index/throttle stop cars that can run 8's going 9.90@150+ etc. Apart from PM/CE the rest is just ...never thought I'd lose the buzz of D-racing. Even our revamped Doorslammer event (H-up 1st to the line) this year was run as a brkt class for slick tired door cars....I despair. Its good news to hear you have 1 re-opening where over here they've all closed and we have just 1 track..SPR

Probably awhile because it isn't lol. It looks like they run the brackets mostly 1/8th mile but the track is 1/4 mile.

Good news. As much as I personally don't care about no prep/street outlaws events, I'm in favor of anything that helps open new tracks and keep tracks open.
On a related note, anyone know anything about the Twin Branch track in West Virginia?
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Really good to hear it's reopening, never had a bad time there! It was all 1/4 mile back when we used to go up there. Matter of fact, my avatar pic was taken there! Probably awhile because it isn't lol. It looks like they run the brackets mostly 1/8th mile but the track is 1/4 mile.
