What fasteners were used to attach this bracket/filler strip to the bumper. Think one person at a show told me the same Philips head screws with washer that are used on washer bottles but doesn't look like it from this picture.

James - They are the same phillips head screw with loose washer as used for the washer bottle and fuel tank to trunk floor rubber seal on Charger. I just purchased a new repop set a few weeks back off Ebay. I have originals too if you would like photos. These sames screws attach the rubber strips at front of fender on 70 Charger too.

Another Mopar guy says...

"there are 2 different types of screws that hold the hood strip on.One style is as shown in the pic you posted and the other style is a Phillips head screw with a built in washer but it is a machine thread not self tapping."

Which makes sense cause this strip appears to attach to a steel angle bracket on the Charger bumper. Self taping screws would be for sheet metal. Are the fasteners for the hood to nose seal use on the Dayton possibly different than the 70 Charger?

The fender seals on both the Charger and Daytona both attach to the front of the fender so those could possibly be the self tapping screws.

Only reason I'm asking all these questions is many time when someone buys these pieces from me they ask about fastener and clips. I wouldn't mind offering them with and without the fasteners.

I can't speak for 69 Daytona. However, I am 99% confident that 70 Charger has the same screw for the hood rubber and fender rubbers. I parted several of these cars over the years and have a large bag of the original screws. They are all the same style with loose washer.

If someone can provide proof of the 2 styles of screws I would appreciate it too. I am ready to install the fender rubbers on my car and would like know I am using the correct screw style.

The other Mopar guy is sending me a sample of the screws. I'll post a picture when I get them.

Just found this on the Daytona/Superbird site talking about the Daytona seal and screws....

"#2 This is the nose-to-hood seal #2962624. This is the same as a section of a 1970 Charger bumper-to-hood seal. It attaches with long Phillips head screws, which are the same as the washer bottle screws. Clips are 1/4" X 20. This seal €is attached over the nosecone grey primer before color coating."

Also...

"#3. The first two fasteners in this photo are Phillips head screws, used to attach the rubber seals to the fender and valance. The black phosphate finish is correct. The last fastener shown is the Phillips head screw, used to attach the nose-to-hood seal to the top rear of the nosecone."

So the "washer bottle" screws are correct for the DAYTONA nose to hood seal installation. 70 Charger may be machine screws though.

Certainly looks like 69 Daytona and 70 Charger have some differences in the attach hardware. I would like to see more info on 70 Charger fender seal rubber attach screws. Hopefully, someone can post some photos of a survivor.

Thanks to John, charge70, who loaned me the 3 screws I was asking about so I could document them. I'll share the info.

In the picture below.

Top screw is the Mopar washer bottle screw, fuel filler tube to trunk floor seal screw and 69 Daytona hood to nose filler strip attaching screw.
Commonly available.

Middle screw is the 70 Charger hood to nose filler strip attaching screw. This is a machine screw presumably because it's threading into a tapped steel angle bracket instead of sheet metal like on the 69 Daytona (the 70 Charger and 69 Daytona, which has a 70 Charger hood, use the same rubber gap filler between the hood and the frt bumper or nose hence my questions about the fasteners).
Found a screw with the exact same head, thread and plating but about 1/8" shorter and doesn't have the self tapping feature. Once installed you couldn't tell.

Bottom screw is the attaching screw to attach the rubber fillers between the front of the fenders and the bumper or nose TO the front edge of the fender on a 70 Charger or 69 Daytona.
Found a screw with exact same head, thread and plating but is 1/4" longer. Not sure but doubt that'd be an issue. And again length wouldn't be noticed once installed.

All these rubber pieces also use stamped brackets along with these screws to hold the rubber pieces in place but anyone even remotely interested in this probably already knows this.

70 Charger 426 Hemi survivor photo below. As usual with Ma Mopar there may have been more than one variety of screw used during the model year.
