I have a 1980 w150 slant six / 4spd. All of the emission controls have been defeated and there are vacuum ports to nowhere (all plugged) I don't even know if this is the original carb but it runs poorly even though I went through and cleaned it and have tried to adjust it.

So I'm thinking maybe I need to get an older style pre-emissions carb? I don't know. Any advice and or suggestions are appreciated.

thanks !

As a suggested first step, make sure the ignition side of things is all in good shape and tuned up. Including timing.

Then work on the carb. Complete rebuild or replacement with pre-smog spec parts should help it run lots better.
