the car ijust bought has a aftermarket powerglide case on it would it come with a place for speedometer it or not? should be on tailshaft ? [its packed in tight]

It is in the tail shaft so it depends on that.
My JW has the Ultra tail and it does not have any provisions for a speedo .
Also if it has a aftermarket output shaft it may not have a Gear inside .
So you will need to look .

Any race stuff - tailshaft housing, output shaft - will not have provisions for a speedo. You would have to use a stock gear set/output shaft and tailhousing to do that. It's just a 7/8 hole on the drivers side with a provision to bolt the speedo gear housing in.


If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Thanks thats what i thought i found the capped off hole looks like i will have to go electrical

Check into it but with my ATI powerglide case I can use a stock or aftermarket tail shaft. I bought a reconditioned stock one from Summit for around 40.00
