Any reason the mopar black wrinkle small block valve covers couldnt be sandblasted and anodized red. Would that procedure work on the “ fins” part of them?

No and yes to your questions. Be careful on the blast media for AL though. Lotta people use walnut shells.

I would highly suggest you ask whomever you are going to have anodize them. I'd let them do it all otherwise any issues will be do to someone else.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

Can anybody recommend a good anodizer to do some stainless moldings?

I'd try paint stripper before any sort of media blasting. As mentioned ask the anodizing guys on what the surface needs to be and how to get there, or just let them do if it's more involved than any of us know.

Anodizing will cover the whole part as the part is submerged. If you want the fins to be aluminum you can block sand them afterwards.

I'd like to do something like this jet fuel finish to a set of valve covers someday. It changes color depending on where your standing.

That be true up scope
There is hard and regular anodizing also, hard is for wear protection and regular is for corrosion prevention scope

Chromate conversion in clear can be done on stainless steel.

Check with your anodizing shop on what process they offer and what materials they can be done on. Type 2 can be done in colors. Type 3 is the dark grey, hardcoat that is most commonly seen on cookware. Chromate conversions in clear or yellow can be done on steel varieties, and of course there is copper, nickle, and chrome plating processes.
