That's a cool car, though I think the flat hood looks wrong on the 70.

Isn't that price in nice 70 383 4 speed Bee territory? I would think that's a $22-$23k car at most, since it's a 500 and not a Bee.

To each his own. For me the fact that it's a 500 with N code and 4-speed is a plus. twocents

Oh, I love it, other than the flat hood. Very cool car.

Maybe it bring similar money to a Bee if the seller waits long enough to find someone (like you, maybe? :D) that would prefer the 500 over a Bee? shruggy It's essentially a fancy Bee.

I like the 500/RT taillights better than the Bee taillights.

Very similar situation to the purple 383 N-code 4-speed 71 SSP.

Which I agree with you should be worth no more than a similar 71 RR. And while I agree it’s a neat car, I think it falls under the “cool car for someone else to own” category

Yeah I agree, not everybody's cup of tea.

For me, I used to own a Coronet 440 with flat hood. I had bought a Super Bee parts car to clone it, but ended up buying a couple of other cars and then thinning the herd by selling the Coronet before jumping into the project. It went through a couple of other owners, with the second one (a member here, actually) cloning it to a sublime R/T, and then selling it to somebody in the US. The R/T clone looked cool enough, but over the years it seems like all anybody can do with these cars is clone them to the point that every one I see is a "Super Bee" or an "R/T", or some strange 'in between' combination.

The clones are kind of like hearing your favourite song overplayed on the radio. You always like the song but it excites you less as you become tired of it.

So now when I see a Coronet 440 or 500, or even a Satellite or Belvedere it's just a nice break to see a clean car that you know is what it started out to be, after all nobody is going to clone a Super Bee or R/T into a 440 or 500... what used to be common is now rare and vice versa.

Or, maybe I'm just getting realcrazy as I get older... laugh2

I'd own that SSP in a flash if it were in my price range.

I would love to own it, low key 383 4 speed cars are a cool breed.
I see 20k. That is reasonable.
Will somebody with too much money buy it for 25k +? Probably so..
