Are their engine blocks any good? Their website advertises hemi and wedge blocks from $3,695. Cast iron and aluminum. But the site seems to be dated, along with their FB page.

Don't think that they ever got production problems worked out

Few of their aluminum blocks out there but not cast iron

Well, I have my eye on a block. I wouldn't be dealing with the owner. Just want to know bout the quality of the block.

I know you're buying a block second hand, so this really doesn't apply, but I talked w/ them over a year ago (maybe 2 years ago, can't remember) and he assured me they would have blocks rolling in from the foundry in 3 months. You see how true that was. I was warned by others not to deal w/ them.
Never heard much about the block itself to know what issues they have.

I'd call Tim at FHO or any of the other big builders to see what they say. Seems like I remember FHO using some of these blocks when they were actually available. I believe Aruzza used some too, but he went nuts and closed up shop.

I talked to Tim at FHO and he said he about went broke warranting them. I have one of those motors, and every thing and I mean everything had to be redone. You don't want to know what 8 new liners cost. Even Ray Barton said they were junk.

Any aftermarket block is one of only 2 conditions:
1. known to be without flaws, many times by experts
2. pass it by regardless of price

They looked so promising! But that just meant their Webpage designer had it together.

This is so ridiculous! Pontiac freaks can buy iron OR aluminum blocks from two suppliers - All Pontiac or Kauffmann, $3250 for iron, $4600 for aluminum.

A couple friends of mine run the very affordable and readily available iron aftermarket Pontiac blocks into the bottom 8s in 3000+lb cars with nitrous, without issue.

Sickening.....isn't it???

And sad too. I bought a Mega Block shortblock 11 years ago, put it in the Dart, and have street driven it since. If something ever breaks and the block is turned into scrap iron, what next? There are no iron blocks out there to replace it with. I'm almost tempted to sell it now and go 3rd Gen Hemi.

There has been a brilliant new product for my DD for nearly a decade: a billet DOHC 4 valve cylinder head with revised stem angle, port contour, etc.
The ad is illustrated solely with a CAD/CAM drawing and a mock-up OF ONE CYLINDER - no photograph of the actual product, let alone a test using an ENGINE!
I ordered 3 of them, because I believe what I see on my monitor.

Summit sells new 6 bolt main iron LS blocks for $349. it's all about sales volume. If they knew they could sell 1000's and not 10's the price would come way down.

Low volume = high price.
A billet aluminum block to replace my (excellent, safe to at least 1,500 HP) cast iron OEM, no larger bore available, no specific weight saving claimed, is $9,000.
