I have a 2009 VW Routan (Caravan) and it has been a lot of trouble. It's starting to have some weird bugs crop up too with warning lights and chimes going off without cause. My wife has also told me that sometimes it will not start on the first turn of the key. (ignition switch recall was already done)

Anyway, I'm considering getting rid of it and wondering if the updated vans are better. Google tells me of some TIPM issues on 2011-2012 vans, but otherwise they look pretty reliable.

What does the group say here? Thanks.

The brakes on our 12 stink, mid year they upgraded them.
Rear ac has broken a couple times. Rest has been great.

2014 here. 70k+ on it. Replaced front brakes once last summer after warping rotors when a deer ran out in front of me.

I had a 2012 Ram CV (cargo van version of the minivan) as a work vehicle. I put 120k on it with no problems.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

I got rid of mine with 170k on it. I live in Ohio so I had some rust eating through the oil pan. When I traded it in, it needed a new CV joint and rack and pinion. The only thing that was really strange with mine was it wouldn't stay off the temp was under 32 degrees. Above that, it was fine. It would fire right up. It was really strange.

I'm a big fan of VW's mechanicals, but they don't have a clue how to do electrical. Same thing with the Audi's. They would go 200k without flinching but would have electrical issues the entire way. My 2012 Town & Country has been flawless so far.
