Can anyone provide info on what cars and engines had factory chrome valve covers?

Best I can recall the 426 Steet Wedge (64 & 65?), the 440 GTX in 67, and 68 383 A Body?

Trying to sort this out, pictures would reallly help if anyone can provide them.

68 and 69 A-Body 383 for sure, 69 440 A-Body did not. Here is a pic of my 69 GTS before the fire... frown 68 383 GTS had a different passenger valve cover.

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

'67 L code 440 hp Fury, suspect all similar C bodies had them as well. Gone in '68.

Thanks for the replies. This helps but I have a few others.

I’ll post Pics and maybe that would be easier.

Any idea what was different on the 68 A body passenger side cover? GTS only or 68 A body differed from 69?

I think 67 383 Abody did too. I’ve seen unrestored ones with chrome and factory literature.

Also 1967 440 HP motors in: 1967 GTX, R/T, and Charger

67-68 pass side has a bracket for the heater hose retainer.
69 does not

Ok, here is what I have.

If you can identify them please use left to right to show what’s what. Thanks.

3 re from left, what is under the tape? A hole for a grommet?

On the far right both 4 bolt covers neither one has the clips for the engine wiring, so I think you have 2 drivers side covers there.

2 on far left are 1967 440 HP all B&C bodies. Yes the drivers side has spark plug looms for the b-body even though the wire cannot run there. Seen many original cars with this cover on the drivers side. Mostly LA built cars, some ST. Louis built.

The small taped hole is a grommet hole. I should have removed that tape or got closer with the camera.

Marine BB motors also came with these valve covers 68-69 although with no wire tab provision, so drivers side used on both sides of engine.
I remember growing up when guys were ordering these for their engines
You could even order them over the counter for marine in 70-71 style, with the two different style valve covers but again no wire tabs.
I have a 440-6 engine that I have a pair of the 71 style valve covers on and they look cool.
I still have these ones from years back.
Note the disclaimer....as if whistling

Looks like maybe the marine applications borrowed stufff from production - good to know they may have used the same side covers on an engine.

the breather stacks on the 64-5 chrome covers meet the flat vc surface

on the 67 + newer vcs, the vc is raised immediately below where the stack meets the vc

and

on the 67 b-body 440 hp cars the left vc doesnt have the clip for the #7 spark plug wire as the a-body cars do have the #7 wire run on top of the vc therefore have the plug wire clips on them

Here is a set of original 426W chrome covers I sold a few weeks ago at a swap meet for $40. They were fairly straight but the chrome was really shot on them. They guy seemed super happy to get them and I was glad to get rid of more stuff.
