My son got some new torque thrust rims for his 87 half ton 150 that are 5 on 5 1/2 pattern. We went to put them on and the hub register hole in the center is too small! Looked on American web site and ALL have the same bore size! Wheel is roughly 3.25 and the hub on the truck is about 3.5 [ Moparts Family Site - Keep it Friendly ] will have to machine the hole in the rim i guess? dont really wanna run spacers that would require changing all the studs to longer. Why would they make the hole so small on a wheel with a 5 on 5 1/2 bolt circle?? Uggg

Yeah it does. Why would you make a wheel with a large 5 on 5 1/2 bolt patern with a small 3.25 hub hole? Goofy I guess no one has ever put torque thrust on mid 80's dodge truck?

I had to open up the Hub on two different sets of wheels for my truck, that is one reason I decided to go back to the 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern.

I looked into that but, it for me was easier to swap over to a 4 1/2 bolt pattern

Looking to get the wheels machined, he already bought tires and had them mounted so cant return the wheels now. We have tires dismounted and going to get the hub registers machined larger. Just a pain to deal with, he was disappointed as this is the first $$ upgrade hes done. Told him to get used to it LOL
