Looking for advice/recommendations for adding fuel injection to my son's small block. He has a nicely built 318 with a decent cam, 340 heads and 4 barrel intake.

budget will make the difference.
carb swap to TBI would be the easiest.
not the cheapest, but not the most expensive.
there are probably 3 big ones right now to chose from.
EZ efi, is the old hotness
the new hotness is fitech
runner up is holley.

Most of the reviews for holley and fitech are good.
expect to spend close to 2k for a kit to cover fuel systems and such.

you can go cheaper putting stuff together yourself with stuff like Megasquirt. The base computer is around 400 put together for you.
you will probably still be into it around 1k after you get the fuel system sorted out, using junkyard injectors and ebay intakes.
or swap out to a magnum motor and use the wiring and efi from that.
might be able to get under 1k if you do the wiring yourself.

you can go more expensive, with no real limit, if you need something that needs to take boost or port injection

I put Fitech on my 340, very happy with it.
Easy install and it runs great.

I've installed a FiTech but would probably change to a Holley Sniper when I do my own vehicle.
