How much of a job to get to the heater core? Got one leaking!!!
Can you repair or re core one or is it just better to get a new one?
Thanks Mike

Haven't done that job on that car, so I'm no help there. But it's essentially a mini-radiator, and can be pressure tested, cleaned, re-soldered and/or recored. Your local radiator shop might also have a replacement source. Dimensions are usually pretty critical as it sits inside the heater case.

I took the whole box out of my 65 with no air. Probably took a half hour to get out.
The studs go through the firewall, control cables, wire plug and ducting removal go pretty fast.

If the cores are the same (I think they are), Id sell you mine.

If it's anything like the Dart I replaced a core on a blood sacrifice will occur.

Its an easy job, 1 hour at most. Pull the box, replace the core, clean up the box in the process a d replace 65_66 are the basically the same. Check Napa and Carquest, I th I nk they still carry the core. If you buy a new one do a pressure check before installing. Old radiatpr shops can fix them too.

After you get the old on out, send it to Glen Ray radiators and they will repair, or re core it. Don't waste money on a china core when the one you have actually fits.
