97 Ram 1500 4x4 - 5.2 / 5spd. Daughter's pickup. TIA for all responses and tips.

Runs fine except on restart after a short heat soak. Sometimes, on a restart after being shut off for a few minutes, it misses horribly. So bad it won't respond to throttle input and gain rpm. Let it cool down for a period of time and it starts and runs fine.

Coil was changed by her the first time it did it. Second time, I went to her. Fired right up and ran fine by the time I got there. I checked / cleaned the battery to engine ground and engine to body grounds. Found plug wires and coil feed hanging close to exhaust manifolds and corrected routing of these. Drove it for two periods to try to repeat. First was about 25 minutes, second about 15. Both city driving. No repeat, started and ran fine on both restarts after waiting a few minutes to allow some heat soak. Mutli-cyl and cyl 5 misfire codes after first occurence, which I cleared while there. It has done it to her again with no misfire DTC's set. However, an evap code (31) was set but it has done that once before with no run issues.

Google search has resulted in anything from injectors to fuel pressure regulator, to ECM, but nothing found specific to the 5.2 magnums.

Again thanks for any tips on trouble shooting tips.

my 92 Dakota v6 had similar problems one of which turned out to be the crank position sensor, the other problem is the crappy fuel now days, with ethanol it boils(vapor locks) AT A LOWER TEMP THAN REGULAR NON ETHANOL FUEL DID,HEAT BUILDUP UNDER THE HOOD ON A WARM DAY CAUSES MINE TO ALMOST JUMP OUT OF THE TRUCK TILL IT RUNS FOR A MINUTE OR SO
hit cap lock by accident!!
