I'm looking for bucket seat options in a 71 Barracuda. Just wondering what is involved to adapt new Challenger seats into the 71? I've seen it done and have seats from a Chrysler 300 but serious fab work is needed for them. I really don't want to cut good floor pans but might have too. Anybody done this swap?

A buddy of mine (Keith Foy) has built a Pro Touring 71 Challenger Convertible. On here he's 71Hoserunner IIRC.

IIRC his seats are aftermarket.

Mid 80's omni/charger seats are about as comfortable as you can get and bolt right onto factory e-body slider tracks.

Is Keith Foy live in the St Louis area? I would make the trip to see that in person. That is the type of seat I was thinking about.

Yes, Keith lives in Arnold MO, just south of St.Louis on I-55.

The car is gorgeous in person.
He just finished the car up earlier this year.
He's been taking to cruises and shows.

He has the build pics on his website at http://www.lotsapins.com/Hemiswap/pics.htm

Yes, that's what I'm looking for. Can you put me in contact with him? I would love to see it in person and ask questions. Our 71 barracuda build is almost identical with what he has done. I was able to adapt the Hellcat brakes, wheels and bigger tires to ours.

Just want to throw my two cents in. We have a 17 Jeep with seats similar to the new Challenger and I thought they were very good looking and comfortable. That is until I had a knee replaced and they hurt my hip and tail bone, then I could't even sit in them they hurt so bad. Then when I could drive I got in my 71 RR and my 75 Dart and the seats didn't bother me a bit, even on a 2 hour drive. Two cents.

I put a set of 2010 challenger seats in a 69 charger,2 years ago.I needed to make up brackets. It took a lot of measuring, they did come out very good and customer was happy.

My wife has a 300c SRT8. I find those seats to not have enough thigh support.

Best to get Recaros. I have a pair for sale (Recaro Trend). PM me if interested.

Here they are installed in a '71 Challenger 'vert:

What did you use for tracks? Did you have to modify the floor to get them to fit? They look awesome. Is that a stock rear seat recovered to match the fronts?

Not my car, but what I plan to do.

I was going to use my existing brackets and make some adapters from some flat stock metal. e.g.:

If I can't get them to work, I'll just buy all new brackets/sliders from:
