thx, recorded it and watched it. Found it interesting, maybe a little too much time spent talking about the 2 50th anniversary cars.
Brought back memories when I saw the collector case (with checkered flag and white car) I received for Christmas '67, but with no cars, they didn't hit the shelves until after. I still have the case fwith 5 of the first year cars, 4 or 5 of the 2nd, and a handful of the 3rd. By then I was getting into 1:1 scale.

We took our ‘72 D100 & went out to the 50th event they had in Arkansas a month ago & it was pretty cool seeing the HotWheels cars out there & was a lot of fun.

I agree that I didn't care for the 50th anniversary stuff. I fast-forwarded through it.

It certainly reminded me that I am blessed to be the generation I am. So many cultural things happened in the 60's and 70's.

I still remember when Hot Wheels first came out. It was something a poor kid could participate in that would keep you connected with the mainstream.

I would have a few cars than the spoiled Pr#%^% would come in with a carry case loaded down.

didn't have a Mini Trail or a Krate bicycle but Hot Wheels were obtainable.

The big question- how many of you got a smacking with a hot wheels track?

I've managed to buy 50-60 or so of the Li'l Red Express trucks, my father-in-law gives them away to kids at the car shows we attend [he has a LRE]. As soon as they make a 'Cuda again, i'll buy all I can!

Have to see if I can find it on demand.

I was a target demographic for these. My Grandfather traveled for his job during this same time frame and he would always pick one up for me. had one of the original wheel shaped cases and eventually had to graduate into a large suitcase style carrier. I've still got a handful of the originals around somewhere. Doubt they are worth much as they have racked up some miles. I still pick up 1/64 cars on occasion, but now they go into a box still on their bubble card.

Not from my parents, but my Bro and I went after each other numerous times.
