It's coming up this weekend. Is anyone here going? I'll be there either Friday or Saturday.

I have never been. Carlisle is always the same weekend and I have been going to that for 26 years now. I wish I could have made Iola back in it's heyday... frown

I haven't been there in 5 years. I stopped going because of the lack of Mopar parts since all the big vendors are at Carlisle.

I've never been to Carlisle. I will have to put that one on my bucket list.

Say hi to the Fonz as he is supposedly making an appearance this weekend. Growing up in Point I made it every year until I left for the military. Back in the day you could buy a good mopar all day long for $2200.

Eddie Munster will be there too. He's a great down to earth guy and his wife is wonderful as well.

I saw Eddie putting tee shirts away in his trailer this morning.

Over cast and humid with a couple of heavy, but brief thundershowers this morning.

The campground is still free from mud, though.

Attendance and vendor participation is down, like most other hobbies with an aging clientele.

They made some improvements to the grounds since last year. Busses on the campground loop no longer have to tie up traffic on the paved road near the car corral, new ticket booths, manufacturer midway, etc, but more unsold vendor slots.

Lots of campsites available.

I think the heavy heavy rain on radar all morning especially just north of the area kept a lot of people home today . Trust me the radar looked ugly this morning

Anyways

However walking around in the cool weather all day felt great

The Fonz was out walking around in the blacktop greeting and shaking hands this afternoon

Chance of rain all day tomorrow and Saturday morning , go figure after a Beautiful Sunny week of Vacation

Christine was there , but you had to pay basically to see it or get next to it as it was enclosed in a confined area

http://christinemoviecar.com

I have never seen cars in those buildings before , but that’s where most of the theme cars where

I was there yesterday.

I was surprised to see a number of reasonably priced projects. A bunch of complete A-bodies for less than $2000 and even a complete 1973 Challenger for $5250 that look fairly clean.

I don't know if it was the forecast or a sign of the times, but there were a lot of empty swap meet spaces.

Challenger was under 5K today, a clean rust free 70 duster ran and drove 4K sold within a hour, saw another clean 73 Gold Duster for 3200 and many good prices on prewar hot rod material and most were marked sold. Swap has been slipping the last few years

Felt 100 times busier today then yesterday

How do I know

I got ran over a handful of times from the rental scooters

Christy Lee is definitely eye candy and they where all nice to talk to

Lines where long for all the stars

Watched a gentleman Gene Winfield , was chopping a top in the garage

Was interesting to watch

Man the humidity was dripping

Back at her tomorrow then it’s time to work and get ready for EAA

Looked at the challenger better today, very crusty on the bottom side. I had the Gold Duster bought today for 2200 till I noticed the tag didn't jive with the vin and title,so I passed on it. Dash had been swapped on it. Hot as heck once again today.

I went yesterday. Saw the girls, and Courtney Hanson. Walked by Fonz but didn't stand in line to meet him. I had never been to this event. I really enjoyed it. I think if you want to see all the swap spaces full, you need to be there the first day they are open and have perfect weather, otherwise, the vendors can't take 3-4 days of heat and whatever anymore. It still took me all day and ten miles on my pedometer to barely pass most of the swap meet. I found some good deals on Mopar stuff and saw a lot of cool cars. I think I spend more time looking at non Mopars now because I've seen just about everything Mopar now for 30 years.

Three Days of walking

Had my car there yesterday

Picture perfect day

I could never walk down every row of parts/stuff

I think it would bee impossible

I really wanted the 1968 GTO in the car corral - Thought it was a decent price for a very clean car

$70,000 could have bought you a very very nice 440/6 Pack 1970 Roadrunner

Problem was it was a N Code Roadrunner

I can’t believe that I used to get up in the middle of the night, drive 250 miles, walk every row, and drive another 250 miles to sleep in my own bed.

Now, I leave home on Wednesday, set up the trailer and generator for the a/c, walk the rows for three days, and still miss a few.

The old legs and hips won’t do more than four or five hours per day.
