Is the pushrod still needed when removing the fuel pump ? Assuming not having one installed would create an internal oil leak.

No.That and its not necessary to remove it as it just drops down against the block off plate.IIRC no oil loss if removed.Rocky

If the ends are still in good shape, don't ever toss a good OEM B/RB pushrod. Somebody needs it. Parts to exact proper OE specs have not been made or sold within (at least) the past 10 years...probably longer than that. An investigation and a few unfortunate hurt feelings went into that statement.

thanks. so I've one if anyone needs one, looks pretty worn though. it does look like a good size for punch.
