I bought a 2016 this January with 48,000 on it .. it is a R/T so it has a lot of options .

Decent car so far .. has 56,000 on it now .

Just made a long trip to Twin Cities and back ..26.5 mpg

I replaced my 2005 Magnum AWD which I enjoyed driving much more

We got our 12 all wheel drive last year. Its been great so far even with 80K on it when we bought it.-Did do all new brakes and its due for tune soon.Only thing thats bad is rear struts.have to pull the 3rd seat and all the plastic to get to the mounts. That and the 3.6 tune is a real pain.It gets better mpg than her PT did.Rocky

Ping member a12rag -- I think he's on his 3rd one and does a lot of miles on them through Western Canada for work. IIRC the rear diffs were a problem on some years, but overall the Journey is a great package.

I have had a 10, 13 and now a 17 . . . the 09 & 10's interiors were, well, kinda "ancient" compared to the 11 and up . . .also, the front brakes were upgraded (and really needed to be !!) on the 11 and up . . . the 3.6 V6 is a much better powerplant than the 3.5 V6. Just don't expect the tranny shift points to be quick . . . they have programmed them for MPG and it takes a lot longer than you would think, for downshifts . . . also, on cruise control, I have found that you need to downshift yourself, when heading up hills, in order to not lose too much speed until the computer decides to downshift . . . . . otherwise, they have been an ok rig . . . the 13 I had, did have rear end issues that were under warranty, the 10 had the front wheel bearing hubs go bad, just off warranty . . . the 13 also had the 8.4" Uconnect touch screen that needed to be replaced twice (but that was a mopar wide issue) . . . .

All of mine have been the 5passenger models . . .

My mom has an 08 with 63,000 miles. The brakes have always been noisy and feel like the are grinding. I think her hubs are struts may be going bad now. 3.6 liter motor is seams ok. My mom is not hard on this car. Seats are terrible for sure. She was just offered 4000 for a trade in on a new one. Hers is real clean.

I drive a 2013 Crew we bought new. Put tires and brakes (front rotors & pads) on at 50K. Ready to roll over 60K (probably tomorrow). The only issue I had with it, was the Cruise Control switches. Dealer replaced them and performed a software recall for "slow switches". I'll buy another one if Chrysler still makes them when I'm done with this one.

I would see if you can afford a newer one, I think 2011 is when they got better. Years ago my wife and I drove an 08 Journey when looking for a small SUV. It sucked, horrible brakes, horrible power, horrible all around. We ended up buying a Ford Edge Sport.

We got tired of the edge and wanting something with a third row so we could travel with our friends who also had a small child the same age as ours. We stumbled across the Journey again and gave it another go since they changed them so much from the first generation. They pretty much fixed everything we didn't like about the older model, great power, great brakes, much better interior. We bought a brand new 2015 in march of 16. It has been a good car, couple of problems with the nav unit but other than that we love it.

Just bought my wife a 2013 Edge with the 3.5 while on a business trip to Vegas in Jan. So far it's a solid vehicle. I was considering a Journey but they just seemed kind of 'cheap' to me compared to the Edge. Hope I didn't jinx myself here...

My Journey of 2012 was a rapid decent into areas best let alone. Seems worse than the sudden panic of my initial degradation of 07.
As The hour now approaches midnight on my final Journey, I reflect upon it all and can make no sense of the entire trip.

Best regards little worms with backbones. .....................
