BE there!
Rancho Cordova, CA.
It will be hot but we have LOTS of shade, cool drinks and plenty of nice cars. Swap meet, raffle prizes, food, music with variety...NOT just the usual 50s "doo-woppp" either!

See flyer at www.CapitalCityMopars.com

Trailer parking is in the FIRST parking lot to the RIGHT when driving in on CHASE drive. I will be near the entrance directing traffic.

Hagen Park, Chase drive Rancho Cordove, CA.

It would appear that it is too late to register, and there seems to be no option to pay at the gate. No worries we can enjoy the show sans hot rod.

If you did not pre-register you can do so on the way into the show.

WE have embraced some of this modern tech and added online registration for those that wanted to PRE register. Snail mail was still an option too.
Day of show registration often accounts for about half of the cars in the show.

Fun show bought some goodies at the swap meet. It was HOT, took off early made it back home at 1am (Seattle!)
What was up with letting the show cars in late? Parking didn't start til after 8am and the line was around the block. I would have been pissed if I had been in that line.

It was hot left around 1. IMO this show has gotten small. If it wasn't for the new Mopars, I think the show wouldn't be happening. Swap meet was ok.

WE have always started parking cars at 8:00. This is nothing new but with as many PRE registered and online registered cars as we had this year, we may consider starting earlier. I suppose that people that PRE register probably do so to save time and that they might appreciate a "fast pass" to park and get set up.

We got there at 9 and parked in the small high school lot (the first one) because the line at the stop sign was long. As soon as we got out there was no line, but that was fine. Left about 12:30. Some very nice cars. Park was packed with 'em, too...

Thanks for the laugh! I am too unfiltered to be a Politician. I'd speak the truth too often and get booted long before my term could end.

It was a busy day, too. I hit a curb at 7:10 and popped a tire. On show day, I am running and driving around the park from 6:00 AM to about 5:30 PM. I had to change it out before it got too hot. Also, the rear brake pads went metal to metal just after changing that flat tire. I had some work to do on that truck today.
The heat seems to chase away the "seasoned" guys with the classic cars. I know that we are all getting older and the heat is a bummer. Late June can be in the mid 80s and it can be over 100. I suspect that there are still some great Mopars sitting in garages in this area. Trouble is... it is a matter of getting the owners to actually bring their cars out for others to see!

Jim.
I missed seeing you there.
Would have invited you over my place, only 3 miles up the road.
Left quite early at 11:00, with a friend of mine, as i had to do some things with him, that i am calling my "bucket list" that needed to be taken care of, for future goings on.

Thought the show was "smaller" this year, and didn't buy anything at the swap section, that was of interest to me, in the suspension, and brake world.

Jim, thanks. We needed to head back when we did as my son had a neighborhood gathering to go to.

I probably have between 15-20 lower control arms between A and B body types. I'd forgotten that they were still in demand.

My rebuilding, and then selling LCA's is pretty "iffy" in this day and age.
Up and down, ying and yang, Death Valley, to Mount Everest.
Not many working on their old cars anymore, to sell parts to.
Last year i sold three rebuilt pairs in 12 days time, then i can't sell anything for five months.
If this was a regular business, i would be "out of business" a long time ago.

I wanted to sell at the swap this year but as usual, I was obligated to the many duties that I have within the show. It is difficult to get good FREE help for these shows. Anyone that has ever worked a car show knows what it is like.
